PROJECT OUTLINE

Redleaf Environmental was engaged by Department of Energy and Public Works (QBuild) to conduct a Cultural Heritage and Native Title Duty of Care Assessment for works in Warwick, Queensland. A field survey was undertaken in addition to the desktop assessment and provided the client with mitigation measures and management recommendations in compliance with legislative obligations.

KEY TASKS

  • Conduct a desktop assessment for cultural heritage, including searches on statutory and non-statutory databases and registers
  • Evaluate potential impact of proposed works on Aboriginal and non-Indigenous cultural heritage
  • Risk categorisation in accordance with Duty of Care Guidelines and Section 232 of the ACH Act
  • Preliminary native title investigation, including land tenure history and stakeholder identification
  • Provide mitigation and management recommendations for Aboriginal and non-Indigenous cultural heritage
