PROJECT OUTLINE
Redleaf completed a cultural heritage and Native Title report for Brandon & Associates as part of the Melrose Road Bridge upgrade project. This project involved works including ground disturbance associated with the bridge replacement at Condamine Plains. The report consisted of a desktop assessment for Cultural Heritage and Native Title information, as well as on-site investigations.
KEY TASKS
- Completion of database and register searches for Aboriginal and non-Indigenous cultural heritage
- Provide recommendations in line with statutory obligations for Aboriginal consultation and exclusion zones
- Walk through to assess the project sites and immediately surrounding area (within public access) for Aboriginal and non-Indigenous cultural heritage values or risks to these values posed by the proposed works
- Assessed the proximity of the site to the surrounding landscape features, natural environment and other built features, e.g. waterways, fence lines, gates, culverts, and ditches
- Native Title assessment and recommendations in accordance with the Commonwealth and State legislation
- Native Title assessment referencing reserve creation, historical and current tenure, and public works under Queensland Government Native Title Work Procedures
