PROJECT OUTLINE
Somerset Regional Council, responding to increased interest from Land for Wildlife landholders, engaged Redleaf Group to design and deliver a comprehensive heritage awareness workshop. The initiative aimed to clarify cultural heritage responsibilities, support compliance, and foster respectful stewardship among rural property owners.
KEY TASKS
- Design and facilitation of a four-hour heritage workshop integrating indoor presentations and outdoor field exercises
- Educational modules covering Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage, legislative obligations, and engagement
- Interactive field training guiding participants in identification of historic settlement features
- Instruction in understanding landscape elements that hold cultural and historical significance.
- Clarification of heritage legislation and property risks, with emphasis on positive outcomes
