PROJECT OUTLINE
Redleaf Group was engaged by Harrison Infrastructure Group to conduct a desktop assessment for cultural heritage and native title in relation to the proposed Undullah Road upgrade. The assessment reviewed statutory and non-statutory heritage registers, historical and current land tenure, and relevant state and Commonwealth legislation to provide recommendations for managing potential impacts to Aboriginal and non-Indigenous cultural heritage values, and native title.
KEY TASKS
- Desktop research of Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage and local history registers
- Review of historical and current land tenure, mapped through cadastral and aerial imagery
- Native Title search including Registered Claims and Applications
- Cultural heritage risk assessment by Duty of Care category (remnant, disturbed, developed)
- Recommendations for further assessment (if required), site management protocols, and finds procedures
- Compliance with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003, Queensland Heritage Act 1992, and Native Title Act 1993
